Homes for sale in the Intown Atlanta neighborhood of Ormewood Park. Ormewood Park is located between Grant Park and East Atlanta and south of Reynoldstown.
The unique neighborhood of Ormewood Park was named after Aquilla J. Orme, an official with the Atlanta Electric Light and Trolley Company in the early 1900´s. He extended the downtown streetcar to include the Old Soldiers Home on East Confederate. After World War I many brick cottages and Craftsman Bungalows were being built. Then later towards the end of World War II a second growth spurt was represented by a number of framed cottages and ranch style homes. There were also a number of Victorian homes built here which today are experiencing ongoing restoration. The neighborhood is now experiencing a great deal of real estate activity, including new construction homes built in the period style of surrounding homes, as well as renovations of older homes. Ormewood Park is also home to the Glenwood Park development.
